The dancing duo, who are the first all-male partnership on the show, scored 31 out 40 on last week’s episode, placing them joint second on the leaderboard.
John recently revealed on Strictly’s sister show It Takes Two he will be getting a tattoo to memorialise his time on the show.
He told host Janette Manrara: ‘Even though we did our little gag, I am definitely going to get one of those planets tattooed on me, because that night I felt like I’d been born. Honestly!’
The outing comes after Saturday’s episode of the show’s most watched of the series so far, according to overnight ratings.
The programme was watched by an average audience of 8.2 million people with a 48.5% share of the audience – up on last week’s 7.9 million. The viewing figure for the BBC One celebrity dancing competition peaked at 8.8 million.
While viewership is on the rise for the 2021 series, numbers remain down on last year’s show – which fell amid much stricter covid regulations – with numbers on the same second live show show hitting peak numbers of 10.7million in 2020.
